The Importance of Multi-vitamins in treating Warts & Verruca

•Verrucae and Warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) which is common in all  environments but does not readily attack the skin.

This is because of the nature of the HPV virus. The viral particles reside deep inside the cells of the stratum spinosum within the epidermis.

This means it can hide safetly from your bodies immune defense mechanism.

•Once your body does recognise the virus, the verruca will resolve rapidly.

Although your immune system needs to be strong enough to attack and heal.

I always advised the below vitamins if you find your verruca or wart is not resolving.

Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin, is important for cell growth and the absorption of calcium. Low levels of vitamin D are associated with increased risk of viral infections.

Vitamin B-12 is needed to form red blood cells and your DNA. Vitamin B12 enhances your immune response, it provides protection against virus and bacteria.

Folic Acid: lack of folic acid (folate) lowers your resistance to infections, so supplementing with Folic acid will improve your immune response and help fight the viral infection.

Zinc deficiency is associated with persistent and recurrent viral warts. Zinc helps heal damaged tissue and supports your immune system.

These vitamins would be my priority in healing and preventing warts and verruca's, however it is important to keep your body fit and healthy and that is why I usually recommended a complete A-Z multivitamin.
